Hi, I'm contacting you here (I'm having a bit of trouble telling, but your HMD link directed me here so I'm assuming this is okay) because at this point I am no longer comfortable threading with you in game.

I admit that, when you first had Ashley claiming control over the clinic in game, I reacted badly and did not handle the situation anywhere near as well as I should have. I was upset, but that doesn't really excuse my reaction, and for that I apologise. It did, however, make me realise that there might be other characters who might ICly have reason to run the same area and may make a bid to take over while Anders was absent however briefly and who OOCly might wish to do exactly that, hence my putting up the OOC post about the clinic after a discussion with the mods. While I'd like to run it, I can understand that some characters might have reasons to do so as well and I want to be approachable about such things. At the time, you said that you were fine allowing Anders to run the clinic, and I thought that, despite a slightly rocky start, we'd be good from then on.

Since then, however, there's been a few threads and posts of yours that I've seen that make me feel like you haven't let this go, as Ashley will act like she's in charge of the clinic and healers. The thread I attempted today and have dropped is a prime example: her attitude in the thread comes across as telling Anders that she is in charge of this and that he can either accept that and go along with her or go and do his own thing elsewhere. It's pretty much the opposite of what she told him ICly before as well, when she reassured him that she'd be happy to work with him, and to be honest with you, I don't feel comfortable answering that thread for fear of OOC reactions bleeding through.

While maybe you thought that it wouldn't be an issue since Anders had yet to make any sort of post about offering others aid, I had made it clear that I was going to be slow due to OOC family commitments, and I feel like it might have been better to attempt some sort of OOC communication before just assuming matters. Otherwise it starts to become an issue of my needing to be around to RP 24/7, and that's not a demand that I would feel comfortable placing on anyone.

This conflict with Ashley apparently claiming control despite others and Anders himself saying that they should speak to him on clinic matters can and possibly has caused some conflict with the IC organisation side of things in the game. New characters are getting told that Anders is in charge, yet seeing Ashley acting as though she is... it makes things awkward and I'd really rather not deal with IC arguments over power, and I'm fairly certain no one else is especially fond of it either.

Following up from this, I am also having problems with Ashley's obvious contradictions in regards to what she's told Anders and what she tells others. When Anders expressed concern that her 'healing' ability, which he would argue is not technically healing at all, would only make more work for himself and others in the clinic, Ashley reassured him that she would not make a wide use of this ability. She was also hesitant to tell him of her ability at all, saying that she'd prefer to keep it quiet. But since then, I've noted several occasions of her offering healing to almost anyone and making little to no secret of this ability. It's frustrating and a little concerning to see such a big difference between what my character was told ICly and what she does with everyone else, and to be blunt about it, it feels as though it's an attempt to placate Anders so Ashley can go do what she likes. The problem is that he will see and notice that difference, which puts me in a spot where he's not likely to trust her nor want anything to do with her or have her endangering herself so recklessly over others. I haven't thought too much about what he might do in order to try and prevent that, because I'm really hoping that we can still work things out somehow, but I can't simply keep ignoring it either.

I think primarily I'm hoping that we can have some more OOC communication going on. Some of my problems would be complete non-issues if there had been some discussion first, such as Anders' plans in regards to the current event, rather than Ashley's post and their discussion which I now find myself unable to finish. My goals with the clinic-related OOC discussions I've had so far is to try and think of things for everyone who is interested in such things to have something to do, and it's frustrating to feel as though I'm getting constantly undermined in that regard.

I apologise again for my previous actions and hope that this is a much better response this time, not to mention that we will be able to hopefully work something out in regards to these issues.

My main reason for wanting to talk with you about this isn't actually to say "Let's not thread with each other ever again". At the time, I was uncomfortable with threading with Ashley further because I wasn't certain what your OOC reasons were behind Ashley's IC actions and conversations with Anders and I like to be clear about these things to avoid confusion. As I stated above, Anders will notice if Ashley tells him that she's not intending to use her magic to heal others, yet others are calling her a healer or talking about the times she healed them, since in his mind, healing = magic so it's a mistake he would make. I don't want to ruin anyone's fun, so not knowing what was going on OOCly put me in a situation of either ignoring everything involving Ashley or having Anders notice and react to it, which could upset your plans or CR.

However, I also wasn't sure if your intention was to have that difference in Ashley's promise and her actual deeds, since that can be interesting CR as well, so when I originally posted the comment above I had hoped to clear up the issue in that regard. I had meant that I wasn't comfortable threading further until we had talked about it, and I apologise if that wasn't clear at the time.

Honestly I think the biggest IC issue here is that Anders only knows part of what Ashley can do with her abilities. He only knows that she heals by transferring the injuries to herself and that she seems to show a level of disregard to the advice of himself and others about how that might cause problems in a clinic scenario. If he knew of her other ability, however, he might be willing to allow her to help out in that they could check the injuries of a person and, if they're not severe enough to present a danger to her, she could take them and store them for her own usage. I don't know if that works for you or not, but it would be one way I can think that he'd be willing to work with her in that setting if you still wanted to go that angle.

Otherwise I can only say that I wish we could have worked this out sooner, because I really do feel that a lot of the issues involved would have been solved faster with just some OOC communication.

All right then. I've said what I wanted to about how Ashley and Anders could work matters out; if you don't want to take that route I won't push it onto you.

As for the current plot, you will have to approach Rory's mun about that as it was primarily their idea and I am not really involved in running it.

too lazy to switch accounts.

If you're up to them talking things over IC, Anders would have to start it. Though would be fun to thread the two.
